The student desk is the basic piece of any classroom furniture. Earlier there was a need to provide these desks with the facility of accommodating the student’s workbooks and papers as one classroom was assigned to a particular class and they had all their lessons here. But now students are supposed to travel from one class to the other, thereby making desks with storage capacity redundant. However, heed should be paid to the size of these desks as older students would require larger desks whereas primary students would need desks that are appropriate for their height and comfort.
Science desks are usually higher so that the students can stand at them and conduct their experiments. They should also be sturdy enough so that they provide a level surface that is conducive for their lab work. As the chances of spillage are usually high, these desks should also be designed in such a way that they can be easily cleaned and thoroughly disinfected.
Computer Desks are also in demand as the need for workstations is on the increase but while ordering them, ensure that they can be easily adjusted, are comfortable and have the required safety features.
